In a string of orders, the government of Madhya Pradesh is transferring officers from various services, including the Indian Administrative Service and the State Administrative Service. The orders follow the directions given by the Election Commission of India. 

Directions of the Election Commission Of India

The Election Commission has mandated the replacement of those officers who have been in one place for three years. This is considered to be a necessary step to ensure unbiased elections. 

The transfer lists have been issued by the General Administrative Department (GAD). Local reports suggest that the process of transfers which began on July 5 is likely to continue till the end of this month. 

Officers transferred as per the latest list

The latest order which was released on Monday, includes the names of 9 Deputy Secretaries and Secretary officers. The officers transferred include Swantantra Kumar Singh, Secretary of Scheduled Caste and Minority Welfare; Uma Maheshwari, Additional Mission Director of State Education Center; Lalit Kumar Dahima, Additional Secretary of Cottage and Village Industries; Kajal Javla, Deputy Secretary, Panchayat and Rural Development; Lokesh Kumar Jangid, Deputy Secretary, Environment Department; Shivam Verma, Additional Commissioner, Urban Administration Department; Akash Singh, Deputy Secretary, Public Health Engineering Department; Abhay Singh Ohariya, Deputy Secretary, Home Department among others. 

In a similar order dated July 20, the GAD issued transfers for 25 IAS officers. 

Meanwhile, 11 IAS officers have been assigned the responsibility of District Panchayat CEO.

In two separate orders, the GAD also issued a transfer of 186 officers of the State Administrative Services.
