Earthquake tremors were felt across North India including Delhi-NCR Jammu and Kashmir on Friday night. Earthquake tremors scared people out of their homes.

The shocks from the earthquake were felt across Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and even Rajasthan.

These tremors were felt at 10.34 pm. The earthquake was so strong that multi-storey buildings in the NCR region were shaken.

These tremors were felt for 20 to 30 seconds. The shock was so fast that people saw the items kept in the houses and the wings moving.

An earthquake of magnitude 6.0 occurred late at night on Friday 12 February 2021 at 10:01 pm local time near Murghab, Gorno-Badakhshan, Tajikistan, as reported by the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ).

According to the National Center for Seismology, the intensity of the earthquake in Amritsar, Punjab was recorded at 6.1 at 10.34 pm.

Former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir and and vice president of National conference Omar Abdullah said that Not since the earthquake of 2005 have the tremors in Srinagar been bad enough to force me out of the house

Omer Abdullah wrote on twitter “Not since the earthquake of 2005 have the tremors in Srinagar been bad enough to force me out of the house. I grabbed a blanket & ran. I didn’t remember to take my phone & so was unable to tweet “earthquake” while the damn ground was shaking”.
