Bhopal: PM Modi to launch another Vande Bharat Express on 26th June

The PM, is reportedly, to launch the Vande Bharat Express for five more routes on June 26th and 27th. In the series of events, the PM would visit Bhopal, MP on June 27th. He will green signal the Vande Bharat Express from Rani Kamlapati railway station here.  The PM will initially arrive at Dhar and then make his way to Bhopal for the launch. However, the railway minister has canceled the launch of the Mumbai-Goa Vande Bharat Express due to the Odisha railway tragedy. 

BJP state president VD Sharma has informed that the PM will be addressing around 10 lakh booths from MP. Digital booths are also being initiated in Madhya Pradesh, in which around 38 lakh members taking part in the rally have already enrolled. The PM is going to address all the workers and members of the booth,  from the booth president to the booth committee. The roadshow will include the beneficiaries of the different schemes offered by the government that helped improve the lives of the poor in MP.

Vande Bharat Express

The Vande Bharath Express, also referred to as Train 18, is India’s first indigenous designed and manufactured self-propelled train set. It is said to be the world’s first semi-high-speed passenger train. The train was initially inaugurated by the PM in 2019 and, is designed to consume 30% less energy. Further, it has state-of-the-art amenities like automatic doors, bio-vacuum toilets, onboard Wi-Fi and GPS-based passenger information systems. The top speed limit of the train is around 180 kmph and the operational speed is around 130 kmph. 

It is currently operational on 14 different routes, a single ticket could cost anywhere around 1000 to 2000 depending on the route and class. The public can book their tickets from the website of the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC).
