Mumbai Police has registered an FIR against one thousand employees of Republic Media Network. A criminal FIR has been filed against senior editors of the Republic.

At the same time, on this whole issue, Editor-in-Chief of Republic Media Network Arnab Goswami has said, ‘1000 FIR is too low, you should register 1 crore FIR. We will answer Because we are not afraid. We are people fighting for the truth.

According to the report, the four employees booked by the Mumbai Police are Shivani Gupta, anchor and deputy news editor, Sagarika Mitra, anchor and senior associate editor, Shawan Sen, deputy editor and Niranjan Narayanswami, executive editor.

Arnab said “for the first time in Indian history, an FIR has been filed against every editorial staff of a network. This means that 1000 employees of the Republic Media Network have been booked by the Mumbai police. They (Mumbai police) say ‘How can you air the Hansa report” and we said, ‘we will not reveal our sources’.

Arnab further said that Param Bir Singh instructed to file a case against all Republic editorial staff. The staff who are part of the production team, graphics team, promos team – we produce the news together. Sharad Pawar, Uddhav Thackeray, let there be a one-on-one now”.

Earlier, the team of Mumbai Police Commissioner Parambir Singh has sought information from Republic Media Network about the cost of toilet paper, tissue paper, A-4 paper and other stationery. Even the police have asked the Republic for details about payments made for air conditioning equipment, furniture, gardening, makeup, suits and hair brushes.

However Mumbai Police has asked Republic Media Network to submit all these details in just 12 hours.

In a press release by the Republic Media Network today, they stated to stand tall amidst all the pressure tactics and continue to put the news first, the truth first and the nation first.

However Mumbai police officials reacted to Republic TV’s claim, that the FIR was “against 1000 TV staff”. “This is a deliberate attempt at misleading people with fake news,” said a senior officer.
