Raju Punjabi, a well-known Haryanvi singer, has sadly passed away at the age of 40 in a private hospital located in Hisar. Over the past several days, he had been receiving treatment for jaundice at the same hospital.

His health improved throughout the treatment and he was eventually released. However, he later experienced a decline in his condition, leading to readmission.

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar paid his tribute on X, formerly known as Twitter. He said that Raju Punjabi’s death is an “irreparable loss” to the music industry in Haryana. “Received the sad news of the demise of famous Haryanvi singer and music producer Raju Punjabi ji. His passing away is an irreparable loss to the Haryana Music Industry. May God give place to the departed soul at his holy feet and give strength to his family members to bear this immense sorrow. Om Shanti!”

The late vocalist unveiled his final track “Aapse Milke Yaara Humko Accha Laga Tha” on August 12. He was renowned for his songs such as “Desi Desi,” “Aacha Lage Se,” “Tu Cheez Lajawab,” “Bhang Mere Yaara Ne,” and “Last Peg,” among numerous others. The audience of all age groups cherished his musical partnerships with artist Sapna Choudhary.

Who was Raju Punjabi?

Raju Punjabi, hailing from his hometown Rawatsar in Rajasthan, was a prominent figure in the music industry. Tragically, he is survived by his wife and three daughters, leaving a void in the lives of his loved ones and fans.

Renowned for his distinctive musical style, Raju Punjabi’s songs resonated with audiences far and wide. His notable tracks, including “Solid Body,” “Desi Desi,” “Aacha Lage Se,” “Tu Cheez Lajawab,” “Bhang Mere Yaara Ne,” and “Last Peg,” showcased his versatility and creative prowess.

Fans affectionately referred to him as the “King of Tunes,” a testament to his ability to craft melodies that struck a chord with listeners. His contributions to the music industry garnered him a special place in the hearts of many.

Notably, Raju Punjabi’s collaborations extended beyond his solo work. He joined forces with renowned Haryanavi artist Sapna Choudhary for the song “Jalebi.” This song, featuring the dynamic duo of Sapna Choudhary and Binder Danoda, was brought to life through Raju Punjabi’s vocals, alongside Meenakshi Panchal.
