Honda introduced two prototype models under its new 0 Series at CES 2025—the Honda 0 Saloon and Honda 0 SUV. This lineup represents the company’s vision for future electric vehicles (EVs), focusing on lightweight design, advanced AI, and high-efficiency performance. Production models will launch globally in 2026, starting in North America, Japan, and Europe.

Honda is redefining EV design with a dedicated architecture prioritizing efficiency, lightweight materials, and advanced technology. The 0 Series aims for faster charging, longer range, and an ultra-personalized driving experience.

A key highlight is Honda’s new ASIMO OS, a vehicle operating system designed to enhance user experience through AI-powered automation and continuous over-the-air (OTA) updates.

Honda 0 Saloon

The Honda 0 Saloon is a low-profile, sporty EV designed for maximum efficiency and comfort. Despite its sleek look, it offers a spacious interior. It is equipped with:

  • Level 3 automated driving, allowing hands-free operation in certain conditions.

  • ASIMO OS integration, providing a highly personalised user experience.

  • High-speed charging and a lightweight structure enhance efficiency.

The 0 Saloon will launch in North America in 2026, followed by Japan and Europe.

The Honda 0 SUV is a mid-size electric SUV expanding on the Space-Hub concept from CES 2024. It focuses on:

  • A spacious, flexible cabin with an unrestricted view.

  • Ultra-personal optimisation using ASIMO OS.

  • AI-driven driving stability, ensuring smooth performance across terrains.

The 0 SUV will launch in North America in early 2026, followed by a global rollout.

Inspired by Honda’s ASIMO robot, the ASIMO OS is a smart vehicle operating system that enables:

  • Seamless AI-driven driving assistance.

  • Advanced infotainment and driver personalization.

  • Continuous OTA updates to improve vehicle features over time.

Next-gen self-driving Tech

Honda is expanding Level 3 automated driving, allowing drivers to take their hands off the wheel in various conditions. The company plans to:

  • Improve AI for safer, more reliable automation.

  • Use unsupervised machine learning to teach vehicles to respond to complex driving situations.

  • Expand “eyes-off” self-driving capabilities for all road conditions.

Honda and Renesas Electronics Corporation are developing a powerful system-on-chip (SoC) for future Honda 0 Series models launching in the late 2020s. This AI-optimized processor will enhance automated driving, power management, and overall vehicle performance.

Honda is developing a next-gen EV charging network to reduce charging time and enhance battery efficiency. Key initiatives include:

  • Joining the IONNA charging network, which plans to offer 30,000 fast-charging stations by 2030.

  • Adopting the North American Charging Standard (NACS) for compatibility with 100,000+ charging points.

  • Developing home energy management solutions that allow EVs to store and supply power for homes, reducing electricity costs.

Honda is positioning the 0 Series as a disruptive force in the EV market through the integration of AI, automation, and energy-efficient technologies. The first production models will hit the market in 2026, setting the stage for a smarter, more connected driving experience.
