Why BJP MLA and MP shared stage with Bilkis Bano's Rapist?

The Supreme Court is to hear the petition filed against the premature release of the rapists of Bilkis Bano. The Gujarat BJP honored Sailesh Bhatt, one of the main accused in the 11 who gang-raped Bilkis Bano and killed her family.

Sailesh Bhatt is seen sitting on the dais along with BJP MP from Dahod Jaswant Singh Bhabor and MLA Shailesh Bhabor. The BJP has honored the rapist of Bilkis Bano during a program in the Karmadi village of Dahod.

The convict, Shailesh Bhatt, attended the groundbreaking ceremony of a Gujarat Water Supply and Sewerage Board project in Karmadi village in Dahod district.

Photographs of the event show Bhatt seated in the front row between the BJP MP and the president of the Singvad taluka panchayat, with images of PM Modi and CM Bhupendra Patel in the backdrop.

Bhatt and 10 others, sentenced to life for the gangrape of Bilkis Bano and murder of 14 of her family members, were granted remission on August 15, 2022. The Supreme Court will hear petitions challenging their premature release on March 27.

A message has been sent to the society that BJP respects the rapists of Bilkis Bano.

Let us tell you that the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Government of Gujarat itself had given permission to fast-track the release of 11 criminals who raped Bilkis Bano. The Center told the Supreme Court that his behavior in jail was fine, so he was released early. These people have already served 14 years of imprisonment.

BBC wrote ‘The government of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi approved the premature release of 11 men who were convicted for the gangrape of a pregnant Muslim woman and murder of 14 members of her family, including her three-year-old daughter, according to a court document.

Let us tell you that when these criminals were released from jail, they were welcomed with flower garlands.

Days after her attackers were freed, Bilkis Bano issued a statement calling the decision to free the men “unjust” and said it had “shaken” her faith in justice.

Trinamool MP Mahua Moitra has tweeted that I want to see these monsters back in jail & the key is thrown away. And I want this satanic government that applauds this travesty of justice voted out. I want India to reclaim her moral compass.
