Students from low-income families have difficulty pursuing higher education. Whether it’s paying for a high school education or completing college, these students don’t have it easy.

But with the changing time and the introduction of scholarships and grants from various educational institutes, attaining higher education has become possible. Even the government has started programs to help such talented but financially weak applicants. It is only necessary to apply for these grants before the deadline and meet the required eligibility.

Some scholarship programs for poor students are discussed here in detail.

Govt Scholarships for poor students

1. Shubh Aarambh Scholarship program

Eligibility: Class 12 students having an annual family income less than INR 3 lakh

Award: Tuition fee up to INR 40,000 per scholar

Deadline: August 1 is the last date to apply

2. National Merit Scholarship

  • Eligibility: This scholarship will be awarded to support the poor students of the 8th class for further class.
  • Award:  The selected candidates will be rewarded with a scholarship of 6000 yearly.
  • Deadline: The due date to apply for the course is October 2021.

To register for this course the family income of the candidate must be below INR 6 Lakh.

3. Swami Dayanand Education Foundation Merit-Scholarship

  • Eligibility: class 12th pass out, to be eligible for this course the candidate’s family yearly revenue must not exceed 6 lakh annually. 
  •  Award: The candidate will be awarded a scholarship as a tuition fee amounted to 50,000 annually.
  • Deadline: The due date to apply is August 2021.

4. NSF Scholarship Program

Eligibility: The annual income of the candidate’s family must be below 90000 yearly.

Award: The reward amount will be 25000 INR annually.

Deadline: The due date to apply for the scholarship is 15th September 2021.
