Ground Report | New Delhi: Kashmiri Girl Sadia Tariq; India’s Sadia Tariq put on a brilliant performance to win the gold medal at the Moscow All-Star Wushu Championships taking place in the Russian capital from February 22-28.

Sadia Tariq, a native of Srinagar, is a two-time gold medalist at the National Junior Wushu Championships. Sadia Tariq, 15, comes from the Bemina Srinagar area of Central Kashmir and is currently studying in the 10th grade at Presentation Convent School, Rajbagh Srinagar.

Sadia herself won the gold medal at the Wushu Championships in Moscow by defeating a local favourite in the event which is the sanctioned event in the Annual Calendar of Training and Competition of the Sports Authority of India.

India Junior and Senior team is participating in the championship. Sadia is from Srinagar and recently took a gold medal at the 20th National Junior Wushu Championships at Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar, in which the Jammu and Kashmir Wushu team remained third overall in the medal count.

J&K Wushu Association President Vijay Saraf along with officials congratulated her on the feat. Kuldeep Handoo, India’s national head coach, also congratulated Sadia on her championship gold. (Kashmiri Girl Sadia Tariq)

Sadia recently won a gold medal at the 20th National Junior Wushu Championships held at Loli Professional University, Jalandhar, in which the Jammu and Kashmir Wushu team won several medals and secured the third position in terms of medals. The Moscow Wushu Stars Championship is an SAI ACTC (Annual Training and Competition Calendar) sanctioned event. India’s junior and senior teams are participating in this championship.
