Ground Report | New Delhi: French footballer Pogba; French football star Paul Pogba has decided to get into Karnataka’s hijab row after the French footballer shared a video about the controversy on Thursday. French playwright Pogba, one of the finest footballers in the modern era of the beautiful sport, took to social media to open up about the ongoing hijab controversy in India.

The footballer shared the clip, originally posted from an account named ‘_.islamismydeen._’, “Hindutva mobs continue to harass Muslim girls wearing hijab to college in India.”

Reacting to the ongoing hijab controversy in Karnataka, India, the French international posted a video via Instagram Stories. Pogba’s latest social media activity on the photo and video sharing platform has caught the attention of Twitter users in India. Pogba’s name was mentioned in more than 4,000 tweets on the microblogging site. The Manchester United star is one of the most followed footballers on social media across all platforms.

Apart from Man United star Pogba, Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai, Bollywood celebrities including Neeraj Ghaywan, Richa Chadha and Javed Akhtar have also reacted to the ongoing hijab controversy in Karnataka. On the work front, Manchester United star Pogba was lauded by Red Devils fans and followers for his recent performance in his team’s draw at Burnley on Tuesday. Pogba, who is under speculation of leaving Old Trafford before the start of next season, struck in the 18th minute by converting a cross from Luke Shaw. Pogba’s goal was his first strike for the Red Devils after 12 months.
