Shekhawat told Parliament that during the financial year 2015-16 to 2020-21, the Government of India has released Rs 4,631.40 crore under National Ganga Plan (NGP) and Rs 217.00 crore under Ghat construction, out of which Rs 4,609.44 crore and Rs 231.44 crore have been released. Under Namami Gange, the total funds released by the Government of India to all four heads of accounts – Externally Aided Projects (EAP), Non-EAP, NGP, and Ghat Works is Rs 10,792.02 crore, of which the National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) has contributed Rs. 10,248.46 crore has been utilized.
