Police in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhind district are facing sharp criticism after an injured man was allegedly left unattended outside a station while officers were busy washing car.

The incident took place on Tuesday in Barthara village under Daboh police station limits.

According to NDTV, a long-running family land dispute escalated when Narayan Parihar and Komal Parihar attacked their relative, Shyamu Parihar, with an axe and sticks while he was building a wall.

Shyamu’s brother Ramu rushed him to Daboh police station for help. But instead of immediate medical care or registering a complaint, witnesses alleged that police, including Sub-Inspector Ravindra Kumar Manjhi, continued washing their car.

Eyewitnesses told NDTV that Shyamu was left bleeding and writhing in pain for nearly an hour. The FIR was registered only after repeated pleas from his family.

The relatives further alleged that police demanded money to register the complaint. When they refused, officers allegedly turned the case around and named the victim as the accused.

“Instead of saving my brother, they were bargaining with us,” Ramu Parihar said. The family has now appealed to Superintendent of Police Asit Yadav.

Inspector Rakesh Sharma admitted the behavior was wrong but did not confirm any action against the officers involved.

The episode has sparked anger in the region, with residents demanding a probe and strict punishment. Many described it as a blatant case of negligence and misuse of power.
