IndiGo issued a travel advisory Saturday for passengers flying to and from Delhi, warning that thunderstorms and heavy rain could disrupt flight operations at the capital’s airport. The airline urged travellers to check flight status before leaving home.

“With thunderstorms and rain expected to pass over Delhi, departures and arrivals may be impacted,” IndiGo said in a post on X. “While our teams are preparing well in advance to keep things running smoothly, the weather may slow things down a touch.”

The airline asked passengers to check flight status on its website or mobile app before heading to the airport. It also flagged road conditions, warning that rain and waterlogging could slow traffic across parts of the city — adding time pressure for travellers already navigating potential delays at the terminal.

Saturday’s Delhi advisory is IndiGo’s second in two days. On Friday, the airline issued a similar warning for Mumbai, where heavy rainfall was forecast. Passengers flying in and out of the city were asked to leave for the airport earlier than usual.

Earlier in May, adverse weather disrupted IndiGo operations in eastern India. An IndiGo flight from Kolkata to Patna was diverted to Lucknow after poor visibility prevented landing at Jay Prakash Narayan International Airport.

IndiGo has not cancelled any Delhi flights as of Saturday morning. The airline’s advice is clear: check before you go, leave early, and expect delays on the road as well as on the runway.

Flight status can be tracked through IndiGo’s official website or its mobile application.
