San Antonio witnessed a tragic event on April 21 when police fatally shot and killed Sachin Sahoo, a 42-year-old man of Indian descent. The incident occurred as Sahoo allegedly struck two officers with his vehicle while they were attempting to arrest him in connection with an aggravated assault case.

The San Antonio Police Department stated that officers were called to a residence in Cheviot Heights just before 6:30 pm on April 21 following a report of Aggravated Assault with a deadly weapon. Upon reaching the scene, they discovered a 51-year-old woman who had been intentionally struck by a vehicle. The suspect, Sahoo, had fled the area. The victim was promptly transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

San Antonio Police Detectives promptly issued a felony warrant for Sachin Sahoo following the incident. However, hours later, Sahoo returned to the original location, as informed by neighbors to the police.

Upon their return, officers attempted to make contact with Sahoo, who then struck two officers with his vehicle. In response, one officer discharged his weapon, fatally injuring Sahoo, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.

While one of the officers received immediate medical attention, the injured officer was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Currently, the investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Police Chief Bill McManus revealed that Sahoo had allegedly struck the woman, who was his roommate, with his vehicle. The woman underwent several surgeries and remained in critical condition.
