Ground Report | New Delhi: What is Reet 50,000 protest; After the release of Rajasthan Eligibility Examination for Teacher (REET) results in Rajasthan, the protest against starting the pending recruitment process is increasing continuously. The REET candidates have intensified the demand for recruitment of 50000 teachers, increasing from 31 thousand to 50000.
What is Reet 50,000 protest
Due to this, a campaign on social media with hashtag Reet 50,000. The main demands of the unemployed youth include the appointment of private candidates from Nursing Recruitment 2013, the release of the 2018 Laboratory Assistants Recruitment Selection List from the Department of Medicine, the elimination of 5000 special teacher positions from Reet Teacher Recruitment 2021, an increase in REIT teacher hiring from 31,000 to 50,000 in 2021, etc.

According to the demands of the candidates involved in REET, the number of posts will have to be increased from 31,000 to 50,000. When the REET Recruitment release was issued in December-2019, according to it, 31,000 posts were to be recruited. But this recruitment was organized after 3 years, due to which the number of vacancies in government schools also increased. If at present according to the data of Shala Darpan, then 55,000 posts are vacant at this time.
Hundreds of such candidates are appearing in the REET 2021 Recruitment exam for whom this is their last chance. If they got a job through this recruitment then it is good otherwise after that they will not be eligible to apply in REET recruitment. Therefore, those candidates also say that the government should increase the posts of REET to 50000. The candidates for whom this is the last chance can also get the benefit.

On December 5, following assurances from Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, unemployed youth called off their 53-day protest over the state government’s delay in fulfilling their 21-point demands.
