After talks between the forces of India and Pakistan, both sides have agreed to stop firing on the Line of Control and other areas from midnight of 24-25 February.

This conversation between the DGMOs (Director General of Military Operations) of the armies of both the countries took place at a time when there was a continuous ceasefire violation on the Line of Control from both sides.
Due to this, the villages situated along the Line of Control on both sides were getting badly affected.

“The two sides will strictly abide by all agreements, mutual understanding and ceasefire in the Line of Control and other sectors from midnight on February 24-25,” said a joint statement by the military of the two countries.
The army of both the countries reviewed the situation in the Line of Control and all other sectors during the talks. Both the armies held this conversation through the hotline.

According to the statement, the Director General of Military Action of both the armies agreed to the dialogue, understanding each other’s internal issues and concerns, which threatens the dissolution of the beneficial peace for both the countries on the Line of Control.

However, the Indian Army made it clear that there would be no laxity in the Line of Control and interior of Jammu and Kashmir against any kind of anti-militant action and attempts to infiltrate the Pakistan-backed militants.
