Some political leaders who were detained after the end of the special status of the state said that they fear that they may be detained again.
Ground Report | New Delhi: A large number of Security forces have been deployed in North Kashmir and parts of Jammu and Kashmir in the past. The deployment of such a large number of soldiers has worried some local leaders of the Jammu and Kashmir UT. In fact, after the special status of the state was abolished in the year 2019, this is the first time that such a large number of soldiers have been deployed here.
According to a report by NDTV, some political leaders who were detained after the end of the special status of the state said that they fear that they may be detained again.

However, the officials said that there is no truth in this, it is a rumour spread by the leaders of the opposition. A senior police officer said that the soldiers coming to the Union Territory are those who went for election duty in West Bengal and other states. IGP Vijay Kumar says that these soldiers are returning from the states where elections were held recently, not for any purpose. He said that he is being included again after the elections are over, this is not a new deployment.

Officials said that during the elections of West Bengal and other states, about 200 companies of paramilitary forces from Jammu and Kashmir were sent to the states for the assembly elections. Most of which were in West Bengal. At the same time, fifty troops were sent back a month ago after the elections were over and the rest are now coming back and are being redeployed.
It is to be known that from 31 October 2019, the state of Jammu and Kashmir was officially divided into the Union Territories (UT) of Jammu and Kashmir, and Ladakh. In August 2019, at least 800 additional companies of central paramilitary forces were sent to the Kashmir Valley. Following this, early last year, during protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, 100 companies were withdrawn from Jammu and Kashmir and deported to other parts of the country.
