In a recent tweet, social media influencer Mohammad Shayan Ali revealed his decision to convert to Hinduism, calling it a “return home” to his ancestral culture.

Ali shared that during a difficult period when he was forced to leave Pakistan due to harassment from Pakistani agencies, he found solace and strength in Lord Krishna’s teachings.

He tweeted, “After observing my ancestors’ culture and lifestyle for the last 2 years, today I am officially announcing my ‘Ghar Wapsi.’ Thanks to ISKCON for never giving up on me. After I had to leave Pakistan in 2019 because of the torture of Pakistani agencies, I went into depression and was about to give up, but then ‘Krishna’ held my hand, and now it’s time to give it back and make my ancestors proud.

He further added, “I will very soon be visiting my homeland, where my grandparents and all my ancestors were born, and will merge myself into my own ‘Mitti’ and ‘People’ because, at the end, ‘Ghar toh Ghar hota haa.”

“As a Sanatani, I want to make it very clear that I will not be a part of any hatred against any other religion. I respect your beliefs, and I want you to respect mine because my Gita teaches me to respect every person no matter what his or her religion is!”

He further added, On this special day, I also want to apologize to anyone whom I have hurt intentionally or unintentionally in my whole life because I don’t want to start this beautiful journey in my life by hurting people. Today, I feel very proud of myself for coming back to my roots, and I hope my ancestors would be feeling the same. Sending you all so much love. Hare Krishna.”

Ali left Pakistan in 2019

Ali, who left Pakistan in 2019 after facing severe persecution, mentioned his battle with depression during that time. He now plans to join his “homeland” India, where his grandparents and ancestors were born. Emphasizing his respect for all religions, he stated that his decision to embrace Hinduism does not reflect any animosity towards other religions. He urged mutual respect and apologized to anyone he may have hurt in the past.

In an earlier tweet titled ‘My Story of Leaving Pakistan’, Ali shared his ordeal, revealing that he was falsely accused of being a RAW spy and a Jewish agent by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). He expressed relief that he had safely escaped the dangerous situation.

Who is Shayan Ali?

Shayan Ali, a Pakistani-born influencer who is fluent in Urdu, recently revealed his experiences with the Pakistani Intelligence Agency. Ali revealed that he was approached by the agency to create a propaganda music video on the subject of Jammu and Kashmir, but declined due to his belief that the depiction was misleading and contrary to reality.

While many influential colleagues agreed to participate, Ali’s refusal aroused suspicion and led to him being treated as a RAW agent, a reference to India’s intelligence agency. He stressed that he has consistently rejected involvement in bogus campaigns orchestrated by the ISI and the Pakistani government.
