Former Union Minister and Rashtriya Lok Dal chief Chaudhary Ajit Singh has died at the age of 82 years. Ajit Singh was admitted to a hospital in Gurugram and died on Thursday while undergoing treatment.
On Tuesday, his lungs had increased infection. Ajit Singh was found to be covid positive in the test on 20 April.
Ajit Singh’s death was reported by his son Jayant Chaudhary on Twitter. Jayant Chaudhary has posted a message on Twitter.

In this message, he wrote, “On April 20, Chaudhary Ajit Singh covid was found infected. He fought the corona till the end and breathed his last on the morning of 6 May. Throughout his life, Chaudhary has earned love and respect. ”
Jayant has written, “Chaudhary Sahib considered everyone his family and the concern of the people remained in his mind. In this pandemic period, you are most prayed to take care of yourself. If possible, stay at your home and take care. This will help the doctors engaged in the battle of Corona and this will be the real tribute of Chaudhary Saheb.”

Ajit Singh was the Union minister of industry in former Prime Minister BP Singh’s cabinet from December 1989 to November 1990.
He later served as the Union minister of food in the PV Narasimha Rao cabinet and again as the minister of agriculture from 2001 to 2003 in the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government.

When his party joined the ruling United Progressive Alliance (UPA) in 2011, Chaudhary Ajit Singh came on board to serve as the Union minister of civil aviation from December 2011 to May 2014.
