Madhya Pradesh will experience a temporary break from severe cold over the next two days, with temperatures expected to rise by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius. However, cold winds will return once snow melts in the mountains, bringing back the chill across the state.

Meteorologist HS Pandey explained that weather patterns will fluctuate throughout February. “After the system passes and the snow melts, the weather will change again,” Pandey said. He added that no rainfall is expected in the immediate future.

The Meteorological Department reported that a cyclonic circulation is currently active over southwest Rajasthan. This system, combined with expected snowfall and rain in mountainous regions, will cause the temperature increase over the next 48 hours.

Gwalior-Chambal Region to See Greater Impact

Most parts of the state, including Bhopal, Indore, and Ujjain, experienced clear sunshine on Monday, which pushed maximum temperatures higher. Despite warmer afternoons, cold conditions will continue during nights and early mornings.

Pandey warned that temperatures will drop again on February 13, 14, and 15, with cold winds flowing from the north. “The effect of cold winds will also be seen from the north,” Pandey said. The Gwalior-Chambal region is expected to experience a more pronounced impact from these cold winds.

On the coldest night between Sunday and Monday, thirteen cities across Madhya Pradesh recorded minimum temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius. Karondi was the coldest location in the state at 5.9 degrees Celsius.

Two-Day Forecast Shows Warming Trend

On February 11, both maximum and minimum temperatures will increase with strong sunshine during the day. Residents can expect pleasant afternoon conditions but should prepare for cold evenings.

By February 12, temperatures will rise by 3 to 4 degrees across the state. Cold conditions will persist during evenings and early mornings despite the daytime warming.

The weather department has advised residents to remain prepared for the return of cold winds later in the week. The cyclonic circulation’s movement will determine the exact timing and intensity of the temperature drop expected after February 12.
