Uttarakhand’s weather is expected to stay mostly dry today, but some areas might see light rain and clouds. According to the Meteorological Center, Dehradun and five other districts—Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh—may experience partial cloud cover and occasional drizzle.

Rising temperatures in Dehradun

Uttarakhand has seen dry weather, leading to rising temperatures. In Dehradun, the daytime temperature reached 27°C on Friday, making it feel warm. However, nights remain cold, dropping to around 7°C. This 20-degree difference between day and night could be a health concern.

Due to the ongoing dry spell, water levels in reservoirs near Dehradun haven’t been replenished. The city has received 10% less rainfall than previous years, raising concerns about water shortages in the upcoming summer. The dryness has increased the risk of forest fires. On Friday, a fire broke out on the Neeleshwar hills in Bageshwar, requiring intervention from multiple departments to control it.

  • Partly cloudy skies in Dehradun and nearby hilly areas.

  • Light rain possible in Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Bageshwar, and Pithoragarh.

  • Dry weather and sunny conditions.

Warm clothes aren’t needed during the day, but chilly mornings and nights continue. Residents should take precautions due to sharp temperature differences. Stay updated with the latest weather forecasts for changes.
