Madhya Pradesh has launched the registration process for minimum support price (MSP) procurement of summer moong and urad crops under the Union government’s Price Support Scheme for the 2026-27 marketing year. Registration opened on May 25 and closes on June 15, 2026. The Agriculture Department issued the directive this week, urging farmers not to wait until the final days.

The move comes days after the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved MSPs for 14 kharif crops. Urad’s support price was raised by ₹400 to ₹8,200 per quintal, while moong received a smaller bump of ₹12 to ₹8,780 per quintal. The government estimates that moong farmers will earn the highest return among all kharif crops — 61 percent above production costs.

Aadhaar Authentication Is Now Mandatory

The state has introduced biometric verification at every step of the process. Farmers must complete face authentication through an Aadhaar-linked POS machine or a designated mobile application before selling their produce at any procurement centre. The government says the measure is designed to ensure benefits reach only registered cultivators and cut out middlemen.

Previously, the entire process was offline. The state has now moved it online through the e-Uparjan portal. Through the portal, farmers can complete crop registration, book a mandi slot, and check their payment status from home.

The state has built in a provision for farmers who cannot travel to procurement centres. At the time of registration, a farmer may enter the name and Aadhaar details of up to three authorised representatives. Those proxies can sell the crop on the farmer’s behalf. However, face authentication through a mobile app or POS machine remains mandatory for representatives as well. No single person can act as a proxy for more than three farmers.

After a sale is completed, the crop payment transfers directly into the bank account linked to the farmer’s registration — with no intermediary handling the money. The district procurement committee has established 23 registration centres on the e-Uparjan portal across the district to process transactions.

What Farmers Need to Do Now

The administration has appealed to farmers to complete registration well before June 15, rather than risk a last-minute rush. The e-Uparjan portal mpeuparjan.nic.in handles all registrations. Farmers need their Aadhaar number, bank account details, and land records to complete the process.

The CCEA approved the MSPs ahead of the summer sowing season, with the goal of reducing India’s import dependency on pulses and encouraging diversification away from water-intensive crops. For Madhya Pradesh’s farmers, the window to lock in that floor price is now open — but only for 22 more days.
