Eight districts in Tamil Nadu will see heavy rainfall on Tuesday as an atmospheric circulation system stretches from the central-east Bay of Bengal across the southern Tamil Nadu coast to the Arabian Sea.

The Regional Meteorological Centre, Chennai, issued the forecast on Tuesday morning.

Heavy rain is expected at isolated places in Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Nilgiris, Erode, Salem, Theni, Dindigul and Kanyakumari districts.

Hill districts face the greatest risk. Residents in those areas should stay cautious, as heavy showers may disrupt transportation and routine activities during the day.

What the Rest of the Week Looks Like

Moderate rainfall is likely at one or two places across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry from Wednesday through May 29, as the atmospheric circulation continues to influence weather across the state.

Chennai Forecast

Chennai will see generally cloudy skies over the next 24 hours, with moderate rain and brief spells of showers expected in parts of the city.

Despite the rain, temperatures will stay high. Hot and humid conditions will persist, and the combination of heat and moisture will make daytime conditions uncomfortable even during intermittent showers.

Authorities are monitoring the situation and may issue additional advisories as conditions develop.
