Ground Report | New Delhi: Sachin Sharma firing on Owaisi; All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi was nearby on Thursday, February 3, when shots were fired at his vehicle near a toll plaza in Uttar Pradesh. Owaisi was on his way to Delhi after attending an event in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut when the incident occurred.
To show his affiliation with the Saffron Party, Sachin posted a copy of his membership receipt on social media. On the receipt, his name is written as ‘Deshbhakt Sachin Hindu’. Images of Sachin with BJP leaders including UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, MP Mahesh Sharma are now going viral on social media.
On Friday, February 4, police said that two people, Sachin Sharma and Shubham, had been arrested for their alleged involvement in the case. Sachin Sharma and Shubham said they carried out the act after being injured by Owaisi’s alleged “anti-Hindu statements” and that they were “hardcore Hindus”.

Sachin Sharma, a law student resident of Badalpur in Gautam Buddh Nagar, was arrested at the scene and police said an unlicensed handgun had been recovered. A white Alto car was also seized. Sharma’s alleged accomplice, identified as Shubham from Saharanpur, had fled the scene but was later arrested.
Sachin Sharma had also shared a video of controversial priest and hate monger Yati Narsinghanand, who had made genocidal calls against Muslims. In a Facebook post, he also expressed solidarity with Ram Gopal Bhakt, the accused who opened fire on anti-CAA protesters in Delhi in 2020.
Meanwhile, Saharanapur SP Rural Atul Sharma said on Friday that Shubham had surrendered to police in Ghaziabad. “One person has surrendered in Ghaziabad. After investigation, we found out that his name is Shubham, son of a certain Pramod. He is a resident of Shanpla Begampur village, which is under the jurisdiction of Nakur Police Station in Saharanpur. His parents are no more,” said Saharanapur SP Rural Atul Sharma.
“He has a sister who is married and lives in the NCR region. He hardly stays in his town and only visits him once. He mainly lives somewhere else. We are investigating to find out who he is in contact with.” contact here” he added.
