The United States has declined the bail plea of Mumbai terror attack involved Tahawwur Hussain Rana, a Canadian businessman of Pakistani origin.
Rana in his bail request said that his fitness is in poor state, including two heart attack while in imprisonment and two weeks of sickness early this year. Rana claimed that he was not a threat to the society – which was rejected by the US government.
Tahawwur Rana is a key implicated in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks in which 166 people were killed in cold-blooded murder, including six Americans.

The attack was carried out by Pakistani terrorists, and Rana was named a complicit in the crime. He was later declared a fugitive by India, and on an extradition request by India for his involvement in the Mumbai terror attack was rearrested on the 10th of June in Los Angeles.
In an order issued on the 10th of December, the judge at the United States Court of Los Angeles said that it could not find that Rana has negated the risk of flight. The judge wrote in the order that the conspiracy to commit murder and the murder charges on him were of extremely grave in nature.
Magistrate Judge Jacqueline Chooljian, the US District Court of Los Angeles, in his procession on December 10 declared that Rana “offered a robust bail package” and proposed conditions that significantly decrease the chance of escape.

The order further read that the nature of the offenses charged on him in India related to the Mumbai attacks on 2008 weigh in favour of findings that Rana could be a potential threat to the community.
The court has granted the United states Government to continue the detention of Tahawwur Rana who is also a childhood friend of David Coleman Headley, who is a Pakistani American Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist organisation that was involved in plotting the 2008 Mumbai terror attack. Headley is currently serving a 35 year prison term in the United States of America for his role in the attacks.
