The central government has stated in the affidavit filed in the Supreme Court that 122 crore doses of vaccine will be required for corona vaccination for people between the age of 18 to 44 years.
The vaccination of the government is the first priority of the government and the government is trying to give the corona vaccine to the hundred percent people in the least time keeping in view the availability of vaccines with the help of available resources.

In the affidavit filed, the government denied that covaxine and coviciled vaccines are available in limited quantities in the country, due to which it has become necessary for the government to prioritize vaccination in a scientific manner.
The government said that the government has already given a license for the limited use of the Sputnik-V vaccine made in Russia.

The central government said that according to estimates the availability of locally produced Sputnik-V vaccine will start from July. And it is expected that 80 million for 40 lakh people in July and 1 crore 60 lakh vaccine doses for 80 lakh people will be made available in August.
The center further stated in the affidavit, “According to an estimate, the availability of locally produced Sputnik-V vaccine will start from July.
It is expected that 8 million doses of the Russian vaccine for 4 million people in July and 8 million in August.

The Center further said that Pfizer has been in constant touch with Moderna and J&J since mid-2020. The apex court noted the epidemic situation due to the sudden rise in COVID-19 cases on 22 April and said it expected the Center to come up with a “national plan” to deal with the delivery of essential services and supplies, including oxygen and medicines.
