Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik supported the farmers’ movement and said that Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar should apologize for the lathi charge on farmers. At the same time, he said that the SDM, who is seen giving orders to ‘behead the farmers’ in the video, should be fired immediately.

Haryana CM should apologize
Malik has already supported the farmers’ movement and he had demanded the government to talk to the farmers. In Haryana’s Karnal, on Saturday, the police had lathi-charged the farmers who were opposing Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and other BJP leaders.
Several farmers were injured in the lathi-charge and were taken to the hospital in a bloody state. In protest against the lathi charge, the farmers blocked different roads of Haryana for several hours. At the same time, the police say that the farmers started throwing stones, after which mild force was used.
Speaking to NDTV, Malik said there is no election at this time and there is no need for a party campaign, but Chief Minister Khattar is deliberately holding his meetings in areas where he knows there will be protests. Malik said that Khattar wants these protests to increase and he is harming the central leadership. He has demanded Khattar to apologize to the farmers.

A video went viral on Saturday, in which Karnal SDM Ayush Sharma was seen giving orders to the policemen. In the video, the policemen were told to ‘break the heads of the farmers’, but they should not come ahead of the block.
Responding to this, Malik said, “I am very upset seeing this. This officer is not fit to be in the job even for a minute. Strictest action should have been taken against him.”
Satya Pal Malik said that 600 farmers have died during the agitation and not a word of condolences has come from any government. This has filled the minds of people with anger, which cannot be guessed.
Malik was Governor of J&K
Malik, who has been the governor of Goa, Bihar, Odisha, and Jammu, and Kashmir, said, “I am speaking this from my heart and I assume that tomorrow I will not be the governor.” Earlier in March also, Satya Pal Malik had supported the movement and said that the government should accept the demands of the farmers.
