India-Pakistan tension | Operation Sindoor was launched by the Indian Armed Forces in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Since then, the Pakistani army has been firing from areas adjacent to the LoC. Amidst this, news came that Ravindra Raja Parmar, a soldier from Datia, Madhya Pradesh stationed at the Poonch border, was injured when a bullet struck his leg.
Ravindra Parmar was part of the Indian Army unit that was responding to the Pakistani firing. He fired approximately 130 shells in response to the Pakistani army. During this exchange, he was hit by a bullet that became lodged in his muscle tissue. He was given first aid at the Army hospital before being transferred to another hospital. During this operation against Pakistan, one of Ravindra’s fellow soldiers was also martyred.
The family became worried upon hearing news of Ravindra’s injury. They were informed of the incident on Wednesday morning. By evening, a successful operation was performed to remove the bullet from his leg. Currently, Ravindra is out of danger. After regaining consciousness following the operation, Ravindra spoke with his family via video call late Wednesday night, alleviating their concerns and reassuring them.
Ravindra’s family includes two brothers, his father, two children, and his wife, who live in Janauri village in Datia. He joined the army in 2003. Recently, he was supposed to come home on a 15-day leave. His return was scheduled for May 12, but following the Pahalgam attack, all soldiers’ leaves have been canceled and everyone has been recalled to the border. One of Ravindra’s two brothers is also a soldier in the army.
