Ground Report | New Delhi: Amarinder Singh alliance with BJP; Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has finally chalked out his plan for the upcoming Punjab state elections. The disgruntled Congressman has said that he will form his own party and form an alliance with different factions of BJP and Akali Dal.

Captain Amarinder Singh’s Media Advisor Raveen Thukral In a series of tweets said The battle for Punjab’s future is on. Will soon announce the launch of my own political party to serve the interests of Punjab and its people, including our farmers who’ve been fighting for their survival for over a year.”

“Hopeful of a seat arrangement with @BJP4India  in 2022 Punjab Assembly polls if #FarmersProtest is resolved in farmers’ interest. Also looking at alliance with like-minded parties such as breakaway Akali groups, particularly Dhindsa & Brahmpura factions,” he added.

He added “I will not rest till I can secure the future of my people and my state. Punjab needs political stability and protection from internal & external threats. I promise my people I will do what it takes to ensure its peace and security, which is today at stake”.

Quit Congress last month

Amarinder Singh had quit the Congress last month after being abruptly removed from the post of Chief Minister. He then met Union Home Minister Amit Shah and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, sparking speculation that he would join the saffron party. Singh made it clear after meeting Shah that he would not join the BJP.
