The murder of Kanhaiya Lal, a tailor from Udaipur, has shocked the nation to the core. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot will reach Udaipur today, two days after the murder of Taylor Kanhaiyalal in Rajasthan. Apart from them, Minister of State for Home Rajendra Yadav, DGP ML Lather and other senior officials will also visit Udaipur.

A video of the gruesome murder is going viral on social media. Another video that has shocked netizens is a clip recorded by the accused who confessed to the murder and later also threatened Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Following Kanhaiyalal’s assassination, the tension between the Hindu majority and the Muslim minority in Udaipur is clearly visible. A large number of the police force is deployed in the city.

Thousands of people attended Kanhaiyalal’s funeral on Wednesday. However, the two main defendants in Kanhaiyalal’s murder were arrested by the Rajasthan police within four hours of the incident. SIT has been formed to investigate the matter. Along with this, NIA is also investigating in this case.

It also expresses the possibility that the two defendants arrested are linked to extremists, on which the NIA will carry out its interrogation. No one in the city of Udaipur is ready to speak on camera about this incident. Those who come and speak on camera are clearly divided communally.

The curfew has been in effect since this incident occurred in the old city. This curfew felt so sudden that people weren’t even prepared for it.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is investigating this murder. The NIA team had reached Udaipur on the day of the incident. Whereas, the SIT formed by the state government and the investigating agency ATS will also cooperate with the NIA in the investigation of this incident.

On the other hand, Jaipur will remain closed today. Here Hindu organizations have announced a bandh. Hindu organizations are preparing to take to the streets in large numbers to protest against the killing of Kanhaiya Lal on Sunday, July 3. It is believed that one lakh people will protest on the streets.

Before visiting Udaipur, Chief Minister Gehlot has urged all religious leaders, public representatives, social organizations and social workers to appeal for social harmony so that an atmosphere of peace remains.

Gehlot has appealed to the people of the state not to share any such material or video in social media which creates an atmosphere of fear and unrest in the society.
