Rani Kamalapati station has been given the certificate of ‘Eat Right Station’ by FSSAI due to proper adherence to food safety and hygiene and providing clean food to the passengers.
What is’ Eat Right India’ certfication?
‘Eat Right Station’ initiative FSSAI and FMCG. It is a part of the ‘Eat Right India’ movement launched by Pramukh, which aims to promote food safety and hygiene in stationary catering units at railway stations. Explain that after intensive checks and inspections, the station has been given a five star rating.

Rani Kamalapati will be the eighth station in the country to get the Eat Right station certificate. Earlier this certificate has been given to Visakhapatnam, Chandigarh Railway, Anand Vihar Terminal Railway Station (Delhi), and Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (Mumbai), Mumbai Central (Mumbai), Vadodara, and Bhubaneswar stations.
Know about Rani Kamlapati Station
Rani Kamlapati station was earlier known as Habibganj Railway station. It was renamed after re-construction. Rani Kamlapati railway station reconstructed on the lines of Germany’s Heidelberg railway station, it is India’s first world-class station.
The station has been designed and built with the ultra-modern amenities like large covered parking area, 24X7 power backup, drinking water, air-conditioned lobby, offices, shops, high speed escalator, lift, anchor stores, automobile showrooms, convention centre, hotels, super specialty hospital, etc.
The redeveloped railway station has received GEM 5 star rating in GEM Sustainability Certification by ASSOCHAM for Green, sustainable design and eco-friendly project. The GEM Sustainability Certification aims to promote eco-friendly green building design and development.
Rani Kamalapati Railway station is the first ever Green Station that has planned an extensive reuse of water with Zero discharge technology that has been put into place for sewage systems. Approximately 6800 sqm is identified for soft land scaping and 7300 sqm for hard land scaping. Also, to ensure cleaner energy from renewable and non-conventional energy, provisions for solar energy generation is provided in station. There is also an adequate provision of rainwater harvesting at identified locations.
