The Madhya Pradesh government extended the wheat procurement registration deadline from March 7 to March 10, giving farmers three extra days to enrol and sell wheat at the increased government price.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav made the announcement after meeting representatives of the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh at his official residence in Bhopal on Friday. The talks covered procurement pricing, crop incentives, and irrigation infrastructure.
The Central government has fixed the Minimum Support Price for wheat at Rs 2,585 per quintal this season. The state bonus of Rs 40 per quintal brings the effective procurement price to Rs 2,625 per quintal for registered farmers in Madhya Pradesh.
“Farmer welfare remains a top priority of the state government,” Yadav said. “These decisions reflect our farmer-first approach.”
In a second announcement, Yadav declared a Rs 600 per quintal bonus on urad procurement. The government said the incentive is designed to encourage pulse cultivation and help farmers diversify their crops during the summer season. Urad carries a Central MSP of Rs 7,400 per quintal, making the effective floor price Rs 8,000 per quintal with the state bonus applied.
The Chief Minister also assured farmers that the state would soon arrange daytime electricity for irrigation. Many farmers in Madhya Pradesh currently receive power only at night, raising safety concerns and reducing the efficiency of water management during critical crop growth periods.
The Bharatiya Kisan Sangh welcomed the announcements. However, Congress farmer leader Kedar Sirohi questioned the scale of the wheat bonus. “Farmers have long demanded Rs 2,700 per quintal. A Rs 40 bonus falls well short of that demand,” Sirohi said.
How to Register for Wheat Procurement
Farmers in Madhya Pradesh can register for wheat procurement through three channels before the March 10 deadline.
e-Uparjan Portal: Visit mpeuparjan.nic.in, click on the “Rabi 2026–27” link, and select “Farmer Registration / Application Search.” Enter your Khasra or Aadhaar number, upload the required documents, and submit the form.
MP Kisan App: Download the MP Kisan App on your smartphone. Open the app and complete the registration form directly from your phone.
Offline at Local Centre: Visit your nearest Gram Panchayat, Janpad Panchayat, or registered cooperative society. Officials at these centres will assist you with completing the process.
Farmers must carry the following documents for registration: Aadhaar Card, Khasra / Khatauni (Land Records), Bank Passbook, and a Registered Mobile Number.
Who Will Benefit
All wheat farmers registered under the state’s e-Uparjan procurement system are eligible for the Rs 40 bonus. Farmers growing urad who register under the procurement scheme will qualify for the Rs 600 incentive.
The deadline extension directly helps farmers in remote areas who missed the original March 7 cutoff due to limited access to digital services or registration centres.
The government declared 2026 as the Farmer Welfare Year in Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Yadav said the decisions taken after talks with the Bharatiya Kisan Sangh reflect that commitment to improving agricultural incomes across the state.
