Recently, a panel discussion led by journalist Saurabh Dwivedi on The Lallontop has caused quite a stir on social media. During the discussion, which was being streamed online, one of the panellists was seen sitting where a woman in the background was carrying liquor cans and placing them in a table drawer.

The incident was caught on camera and shared on Twitter, where it quickly went viral. Many users expressed shock and outrage at the apparent presence of alcohol at a professional event, while others questioned the judgment of those involved.

A Twitter user tweeted “This is the level of journalism these days and it’s all happening in front of Saurabh Dwivedi. Pathetic.”

Reaction

Some users on social media have expressed different opinions. They argued that a few cans of beer shouldn’t be a concern as long as the panellists aren’t drunk during the discussion.

Journalist Hridayesh Joshi tweeted “A few cans of beer should not worry us as long as the panellists are not drunk themselves. Liquor is not such a bad thing as the poison of bigotry & communalism that TV channels are serving every day.”

Another user said “Thank you for saying this. I don’t know what the big deal was. Especially given that young professionals often share living space with others. God knows what this gentleman found as pathetic. Perhaps he doesn’t drink himself & considers it some sort of virtue. Good for him.”

“Yes. Absolutely. Especially after some gruesome killings such actions shall be a mitigating circumstance for the built up stress of the people accompanying news reporters” another user tweeted.
