Ground Report | New Delhi: Aamir Liaquat third marriage; Aamir Liaquat Hussain, the 49-year-old leader and MP from Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, is in a lot of discussions these days. Liaquat Hussain on Twitter said that he is married to Syeda Dania Shah, 18 years old, and this is his third marriage. There is a gap of about 31 years in the age of both.
Just a day before Liaquat Hussain’s tweet, his second wife, Syeda Tuba Anwar, had reported the divorce in an Instagram post.
She wrote: “It is with a heavy heart that I want to let people know about the change in my life. My family and close friends know that after 14 months apart, it was clear there was no hope of reconciliation and I had to choose the option of open the court.
Tuba Anwar wrote in this post: “I can’t say how difficult it was, but I worship Allah. I ask everyone to respect my decision in this difficult time.”
A TV presenter by profession, Tuba Anwar, 28, and Liaquat Hussain were married in 2018. At the time, Liaquat Hussain’s first wife had claimed over the phone that she was divorced. Liaquat Hussain’s first wife, Syeda Bushra Iqbal, had recounted through an Instagram post at the time how her husband divorced her over a phone call in front of another wife. She had alleged that Liaquat did this at Tuba’s behest.
Pakistani Twitter user Sohni writes on Liaquat Hussain’s marriage, “Every legal thing is not always right. Is it legal for a 50 year old man to marry an 18 year old girl? Yes. But comparing with the age of the groom, what girl Have a baby now? Yes. The groom was 32 years old when she was born.”
Sohni wrote in another tweet, “When you marry someone who is a teenager much younger than you, you strike a wrong balance of power. Your personality and life are fully formed. But an 18 year old Not a teenager or a teenager. You can make them whatever you want and that’s why a man like Aamir does.”
