Ground Report | New Delhi: Woman kidnapped, raped; A 26-year-old woman was allegedly abducted and raped in Gurgaon on Tuesday night. Police said that when she tried to resist, the accused gave her narcotics and attacked her with a knife. She suffered minor injuries and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital, where his condition is said to be stable.

According to the police, the woman used to work as a lab technician in the city till some time ago. She was laid off from her job in July. Police said that the accused is the director of the lab where she used to work earlier.

Woman kidnapped, raped

The woman told the police that Sachin Singh Tiwari had raped her several times since last year. He would often take her to a local hotel and beat her up there. The woman has also claimed that she became pregnant once and that the man “made her abort”.

On Tuesday, Tiwari allegedly called her to a village in Wazirabad on the pretext of “talking”. There he forcibly took her to Badshapur by putting her in a car. There, the man allegedly “drugged her and raped her” inside the vehicle.

Police said when the woman tried to stop him, he attacked her with a knife. The commotion caught the attention of some passers-by who informed the local police station. But by the time the police reached the spot, the youth had fled. The woman was taken to a nearby private hospital where she is undergoing treatment.

FIR registered

An FIR was registered against the accused at Sector 53 police station on Tuesday evening under sections 313 (punishment for life imprisonment), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 328 (causing hurt by poison), 354C (assault). /Criminal force to woman), 365 (kidnapping), 376(2) (rape and sexual assault), and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) IPC.
