Ground Report | New Delhi: What’s the controversy of Ramayan Express train; A controversy has erupted over the wearing of saffron-coloured uniforms in the Ramayan Express train run by the Indian Railways. Some sages of Ujjain city of Madhya Pradesh claim that this is an insult to Hinduism.
He has threatened that if this dress code is not withdrawn then he will stop the operation of this train in Delhi on 12th December.
Awadheshpuri, former general secretary of Ujjain Akhara Parishad, told news agency PTI, “We have written a letter to the Union Railway Minister two days ago about our protest against serving food items in saffron-colored uniform in Ramayan Express. Wearing saffron clothes. Doing this work by wearing a turban-like monk and a rosary of Rudraksha around the neck is an insult to Hinduism and its saintly society.

He also said that if the dress code of the waiters is not changed, then the people of Sant Samaj will stop the train at Delhi’s Safdarjung railway station. He said, “We will sit on the railway track. In the city of Ujjain, there is a Mahakaleshwar temple of Lord Shankar, the deity of Hindus. Simhastha Kumbh Mela is also organized here every 12 years. The country’s first Ramayan circuit train left on 7 November from Safdarjung railway station on a 17-day journey.

This train travels to 15 places related to Lord Rama, the deity of Hindus. This train stops at places like Ayodhya, Prayag, Nandigram, Janakpur, Chitrakoot, Sitamarhi, Nashik, Hampi, and Rameswaram during the 7500 km long journey.
