Ground report | New Delhi: The CBI investigating the Narada Sting case arrested four people, including three Trinamool Congress leaders, on Monday morning. Two ministers are also included in these. All of them were brought from their house to the CBI office located at Nizam Palace and they were arrested there.
These leaders include two ministers Firhad Hakim and Subrata Mukherjee, besides former ministers and now BJP leaders Shobhan Chatterjee and TMC MLA Madan Ministers. Governor Jagdeep Dhankar recently allowed the CBI to file a charge sheet against these leaders.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has also reached the CBI office as soon as the information of the leaders was arrested.

Sources in the agency said that after interrogation, these leaders have been arrested and they will be produced in court later in the day. This action has been taken after the state governor Jagdeep Dhankhar approved the CBI to run the case against these leaders.
Suvan Chatterjee, who was associated with TMC at one stage, joined BJP in 2019, but left the party after the saffron party denied ticket in the assembly elections. On the other hand, Madan Mitra had won the Kamarhati assembly seat in the recent elections.
The ruling TMC has termed these arrests as illegal. Party spokesman Kunal Ghosh said that the arrest of the leaders without any notice is illegal. He asked, “Why were the accused BJP leaders Mukul Roy and Shubhendu Adhikari not arrested in the same case?”
Assembly Speaker Viman Banerjee has also said that the arrests are illegal and said that their permission has not been taken from them. Banerjee said that the governor does not have the right to give the green signal to the arrest of these leaders.

TMC spokesperson Kunal Ghosh said that we condemn it and it is a revenge-like attitude. At the same time, BJP says that it has no role in these arrests. Party spokesman Samik Bhattacharjee said, ‘We have nothing to say. BJP has nothing to do with this. ‘
The arrest of the ministers has once again exposed the case of Narda scam which emerged before 2016. In fact, in the Narada sting operation, several senior TMC leaders were seen taking cash in exchange for the help of a fake company.
