Vaccination After Covid Recovery: One question that every covid-19 recovered people are asking is that, when should they get their vaccine jab. So expert says that people who have just recovered from COVID-19 have to wait atleast 90 days before vaccination.

In India now vaccination is open for everyone who is above 18 years.

All adults can get their first vaccine jab from state run or private vaccination centres.

How much you need to wait if you are just recovered from Covid-19?

If you have just recovered from Covid-19 infection, you don’t need to rush for the vaccine.

Recovered patients already develop antibodies in them which lasts for 4 to 6 months.

Expert says that last longing antibodies can only be developed after vaccination. So you need to get vaccine but only after 90 days.

So People who have just recovered from COVID-19 have to wait for at least two months and upto 90 days until they can take the vaccine.

The US-based Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) suggests that, “If you were treated for COVID-19 with monoclonal antibodies or convalescent plasma, you should wait 90 days before getting a COVID-19 vaccine.”

For those who got infection after 1st dose of vaccine

There are lots of people who got infected after getting 1st dose of vaccine. Now they are asking that when should they get their 2nd dose of vaccine.

If you have taken one dose of the vaccine and then developed COVID-19, in that case you have to wait for 60-90 days from illness for the second dose.

You should ask your doctor for this purpose. They will guide you better in this matter.

What if you miss your 2nd Dose?

There are lots of people above 45 who are waiting for their 2nd jab. There is possible chance that they might not get their 2nd dose on time. Then what?

Officials say that if you’re getting a two-dose vaccine, you should complete both doses for the strongest protection against Covid-19.

So it is recommended that you should get your 2nd dose on time.
