Meteorological Department expressed apprehensions by May 17
Ground Report | New Delhi: The Indian Meteorological Department, the epicenter of cyclone ‘Tokte’ is currently Lakshadweep, which is moving more vigorously on Saturday morning.
The cyclone is becoming stronger, its effect is in the southeastern and east-central Arabian Sea along with Lakshadweep. Surveillance on the beaches of southern Gujarat and Diu has been increased due to this cyclone.
According to news agency PTI, the Prime Minister has called a meeting of top officials and NDMA to review the preparations to deal with this cyclone.

As the cyclone is moving towards the Western Tato, the administration’s concern is also increasing. The Indian Navy has assured the administration of all possible help. The Indian Navy has said in its tweet, “Indian Navy ships, ships, helicopters, divers and disaster relief teams are ready to help on the west coast.”
The Meteorological Department had expressed apprehensions on Friday that by May 17, the cyclone could cause havoc at a speed of 150 to 160 kilometers per hour.
According to the Meteorological Department, this cyclonic storm will initially rise from the north-east and then reach the coasts of Gujarat through the north and north-west by the morning of 18 May.
Red alert has been issued in five districts of Kerala – Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, Pathanamitta and Ernakulam – due to this cyclonic storm.

Disaster management teams have been deployed in these areas. There is a possibility of a cyclone in Mumbai and Thane in the same weekend. The Meteorological Department has also alerted them.
According to the Meteorological Department, the impact of the storm in Maharashtra may gradually weaken until May 18. After May 18, it will move towards Gujarat.
