An explosion in a truck near a mine in Shivamoga district of Karnataka in which many people are feared dead.
A policeman confirmed that a large quantity of gelatin sticks were kept in this truck. The policeman says, “We are unable to find out how many people have died at the scene right now because it is very dark and it is difficult to reach there because of the foul smell of the blast.”

The truck also had a large number of gelatin sticks as well as workers. News agency PTI and ANAI have quoted police saying that at least 6 people have died.
It is estimated that a mine has exploded at Hunsondi near the village of Abbalagere and the police has also called a bomb disposal squad.

Truck filled explosives blast in Karnataka
District Deputy Commissioner of Shivamoga district, KB Sivakumar has said, “We have laid siege to the entire area. We do not want people to go to that place because we do not want to let another incident happen due to darkness. We do not know if there is explosive material lying there. “
The blast took place around 10.20 pm, whose noise and tremors were felt in the neighboring Chikmagaluru district.
Initially, this mysterious noise was considered by many as an earthquake and they came out of their homes. Glasses of windows of many houses were also broken.
Karnataka CM tweets: “I extend condolences to deceased members. Injured people are being treated. I’ve ordered a high-level inquiry on this and strict action will be taken.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences to the families of those killed in the explosion and wished speedy recovery for the injured.
