Ground Report | New Delhi: J&K may increase by 25 assembly seats”; After the abrogation of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir, Prime Minister Narendra Modi starts directly interact with 14 people’s representatives of eight political parties of Jammu and Kashmir for the first time. At present, the agenda of the meeting convened at the Prime Minister’s residence at 3 pm has been kept secret. 

Apart from the PM, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, Jammu, and Kashmir LG Manoj Sinha, NSA Ajit Doval, PM’s Principal Secretary PK Mishra, Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla, and some other high officials can attend the meeting. With this meeting, the process of delimitation will be considered as the beginning of the state. In a way, this is the beginning of a wide consultation to take forward the democratic process in the state.

BJP leader Sonkar Shastri has given the first extended statement from the meeting of the leaders of Jammu and Kashmir with PM Modi. Sonkar has said that due to the delimitation in Jammu and Kashmir, about two dozen seats of SC-ST will increase. Jammu and Kashmir’s 25 assembly seats may increase.

Ahead of the all-party meeting with PM Modi, there is a strong protest against former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti. This demonstration is happening against Mehbooba’s statement regarding Pakistan. After the Gupkar Alliance meeting on June 22, Mehbooba had said that the government should talk to Pakistan on the Kashmir issue (J&K may increase by 25 assembly).

Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party President Altaf Bukhari said, “We welcome this meeting of the Prime Minister. Talks should be held. People are definitely angry with the removal of 370, so the government should give some solution to this to the people of Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir Let me hold elections soon and don’t even wait for delimitation for this. I will not say much on the statement Mehbooba Mufti made to talk to Pakistan, but some people have been doing the work of misleading people by simply playing politics of feelings.
