Additional Sessions Judge Vinod Yadav has been hearing several Delhi riot cases has been transferred. He is now been posted as Special CBI Judge, Rouse Avenue Courts. According to the transfer order, Special Judge (CBI) Virender Bhatt will be replacing judge Yadav.

“I am not able to restrain myself from observing that when history will look back at the worst communal riots since partition in Delhi, it is the failure of investigating agency to conduct proper investigation by using latest scientific methods, will surely torment the sentinels of democracy,” the judge said.
It is noticed that after filing the half-baked chargesheets in Court, the police hardly bothers about taking the investigation to a logical end. The accused persons, who have been roped in multiple cases continue to languish in jails as a consequence thereof.

ASJ Yadav, a day before his transfer, came down heavily on Delhi police saying “Police witnesses are lying on oath” and giving contradictory statements.

Clashes between of pro-and anti-CAA protesters in Jafrabad on February 23 night turned into communal violence and spread across northeast Delhi over the next four days. Forty-two people, including a policeman and an IB personnel, lost their lives, while hundreds were injured and shops and houses burnt or destroyed. Delhi Police faced criticism for the ineffective handling of the riots. Hundreds of people have been arrested or detained so far in connection with the violence. Hearing of these cases is ongoing.
