The lack of data that the reason behind this may be less testing done on Sunday. Only 1.5 million samples were tested on Sunday, while 18 to 19 lakh samples are tested on normal days.
More than 19 lakh samples were tested on 30 April and 1 May in the two days before Sunday.

The Indian Express has written that since there are relatively few tests on Sunday and the results of the test come a day later, the effect is reflected in the data released on Monday. The newspaper says that for many months, on Monday, the figures are less than on other days of the week.
However, the newspaper writes that this time, for two consecutive days, the number of daily infected data has been reduced, which had not been done for the past several weeks. But whether this decrease will continue in the coming days, nothing can be said about it.

On Sunday, 407 deaths were reported from Delhi, the second consecutive day when the toll has been more than 400. Delhi has so far recorded close to 17,000 deaths, second only to Maharashtra’s 72,000.
The state which is racing ahead is Andhra Pradesh, which was the second worst affected state during the first wave. Andhra Pradesh had been rising relatively slowly in the second wave, but has accelerated in the last one week.

On Sunday, the state reported close to 24,000 cases, about 4,500 more than what was discovered just a day earlier.
