Ground Report | New Delhi: Assembly Election 2022 date; The Election Commission is announcing the dates of assembly elections in five states. The five states with elections are – Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa, and Manipur.

Assembly Election 2022 date

Chief Election Commissioner Sushil Chandra said that elections will be held in 690 assembly seats in five states. 18 crore 34 lakh voters will participate in these elections.

The commission said that the elections will be held in seven phases. The first phase of elections in Uttar Pradesh will be held on February 10. The second phase of elections will be held on February 14.

The Election Commission says that conducting elections between Corona is challenging. The commission says that conducting secure elections is the first priority. New protocols will be implemented to conduct elections between Corona.

The Election Commission said that till January 15, no roadshow, rally, pad yatra, cycle, and scooter rally will be allowed. The election campaign will be done only through the virtual rally. There will be no victory procession after the victory.

The CEC said it is mandatory for political parties to upload on their websites detailed information about persons with pending criminal cases selected as election candidates and why this particular candidate was chosen.

“Our target is to conduct COVID-safe elections in five states with maximum voter participation with extensive preparation. All polling stations will be equipped with COVID-mitigation facilities including sanitizers and masks; In addition, the number of booths has also been increased.

Citing the latest spurt in Covid-19 cases, the Congress has announced that it will not hold any rallies in Uttar Pradesh and urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to refrain from organizing large public events in the state.

  • The maximum number of voters at the polling station was reduced from 1500 to 1250.
