Congress MP  Manish Tewari filed a postponement motion notice in Lok Sabha to discuss “ordering the government to create a register of farmers who lost their lives during the protest against agricultural laws and to compensate their families.” The House was adjourned until noon as congressional parliamentarians shouted slogans against the farm laws.

This (Agricultural Law Repeal Bill, 2021 approved by Lok Sabha) is a tribute to the 750 farmers who lost their lives during the upheaval. The protest will continue as other issues, including the MSP, are still pending, said BKU leader Rakesh Tikait. (Farm Laws Repeal Bill)

Earlier, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh had tweeted and said that the Modi government wants to withdraw the agriculture bill without debate in Parliament. Ramesh had said that 16 months ago the agriculture bills were passed in a very undemocratic way and efforts are on to get it back in the same way.

The Supreme Court had suspended the implementation of the three laws in January.
