7 months of Farmers; Seven months of farmers’ agitation against the agricultural laws brought by the Modi government have been completed on Saturday. On this occasion, some farmer leaders had talked about marching towards Delhi, keeping in mind the apprehension of which Delhi Metro has decided to keep three main stations of Yellow Line closed for four hours.
According to DMRC officials, it has been decided to keep the University, Civil Lines and Vidhan Sabha metro stations of Yellow Line Metro closed from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday. Apart from Singhu border of Delhi and Haryana, farmers’ agitation is also going on at Tikri and Ghazipur border of Delhi-UP.
Keeping in mind the performance of the farmers, Delhi Police had advised Delhi Metro to keep some stations closed. (7 months of Farmers)
On the completion of seven months of the agitation, the farmers’ organization, United Kisan Morcha has appealed to the farmers of all the states to submit memorandums related to their demands to the governors of their states.
Keeping this in mind, security arrangements have been tightened outside the residence and office of the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi. Along with this, security has also been increased at the ITO of the capital Delhi.
Talking to the press, Dr. Darshan Pal, leader of the Bharatiya Kisan Union said that “In the last seven months, under the leadership of the United Kisan Morcha, the farmers of India have shown the world’s longest movement. Thousands of farmers from across the country have joined this movement. We are going to make this a more strong movement in the coming times.”
According to different organizations of farmers, thousands of farmers from Saharanpur and Sisauli (UP) reached Ghazipur border on Saturday morning under the leadership of Rakesh Tikait. It has been told that these farmers are going to organize a tractor rally on Saturday.
The Punjab Khet Mazdoor Union also announced on Friday that it would organize a three-day dharna in Patiala, the home district of Captain Amarinder Singh, if the grievances of agricultural laborers were not heard by August 9.
