The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather alert for multiple districts in Madhya Pradesh for June 21. According to the forecast, strong winds and widespread rainfall are expected to impact a large part of the state.
Very heavy rainfall accompanied by wind speeds of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour is likely in Ashoknagar and Shivpuri districts. Heavy rain with similar wind conditions is also expected in Narmadapuram, Betul, Guna, Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Morena, Sheopur, Shahdol, Dindori, Narsinghpur, Chhindwara, Panna, Damoh, and Sagar. Gusty winds reaching 40 to 50 kilometers per hour are likely in most other districts as well.
The IMD has urged residents to take precautions. Poor visibility during heavy rainfall and strong winds may disrupt traffic and daily movement. Waterlogging is likely on roads and in low-lying areas, which could lead to delays and pose safety risks. The risk of waterborne diseases may also increase, especially in areas with poor drainage. Residents are advised to avoid parking vehicles near trees or unstable structures due to the possibility of falling debris caused by high winds.

IMD Bhopal also has confirmed that the Southwest Monsoon has advanced into the remaining parts of Madhya Pradesh, covering the entire state as of June 20. Several districts received heavy rainfall over the past 24 hours, while temperature levels dropped significantly in many regions.
