Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has achieved a significant milestone by surpassing the 10,000 MW mark in its operational energy portfolio, marking a major contribution to India’s renewable energy sector. The company’s current operational assets include 7,393 MW of solar power, 1,401 MW of wind power, and 2,140 MW of hybrid wind-solar capacity. Notably, AGEL added 2,848 MW of this capacity during the financial year 2023-24.

This expansion in AGEL’s operational capacity to 10,934 MW is set to provide clean energy to over 5.8 million households while preventing around 21 million tonnes of carbon emissions annually. The company’s ambitious plans don’t stop here; it aims to install a total of 45 GW of renewable energy by 2030. A significant step towards this goal is the implementation of a massive 30 GW renewable energy park in Khavda, Gujarat.

AGEL’s portfolio, which spans across 12 states, includes large utility-scale grid-connected solar, wind, and hybrid renewable power plants. The company’s total portfolio stands at 21.8 GW, with projects that are either operational or under implementation.

In a recent development, March 2024 saw the commissioning of a 180 MW solar power plant at Devikot in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, further bolstering AGEL’s position as the largest operating renewable energy portfolio in India.

Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, expressed pride in the company’s achievements, stating, “We are proud to be India’s first ‘das hazari’ in the renewables space. In less than a decade, Adani Green Energy has grown from a mere idea to explore clean energy to achieving a phenomenal 10,000 MW in installed capacity.”

AGEL’s commitment to a sustainable future is evident in its ongoing projects, including the world’s largest renewable energy plant in Khavda. This 30 GW project, along with the company’s operational portfolio, underscores AGEL’s role in powering millions of homes and significantly reducing CO2 emissions, contributing to a cleaner and greener planet.
