The India Meteorological Department (IMD) stated that Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand are likely to witness isolated extremely heavy rainfall, which will gradually subside starting Tuesday.

The latest bulletin from the weather agency indicates expectations of scattered light to moderate showers, which could become quite widespread, with occasional heavy showers over Jammu Division in North West India on Monday.

Similar conditions are projected for Himachal Pradesh on Monday and Tuesday, as well as for Uttarakhand on weekdays.

“Far northern areas such as Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and northwestern Uttar Pradesh are likely to experience this pattern on Monday. There is also a possibility of extremely heavy isolated showers over Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh within the next 24 hours, followed by a substantial decrease in intensity from tomorrow,” the IMD predicted.

Moving into eastern India, scattered light to moderate rain is forecast, possibly becoming quite widespread, with isolated instances of heavy rain activity.

“Odisha is expected to witness these conditions until Friday. West Bengal Sub-Himalayas and Sikkim are likely to experience similar weather patterns from Tuesday to Thursday. Gangetic West Bengal is expected to see heavy rain on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday while Jharkhand is forecast to have similar conditions on Tuesday to Friday,” IMD stated.

Additionally, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands could experience heavy rain on Thursday and Friday.

In north-east India, light to moderate, fairly widespread to widespread rain is forecast, with isolated heavy rain activity likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura through Friday.
