The body of a woman was found inside a suitcase on Friday near the Yamuna Expressway in Mathura on Friday (November 18). Police received information about a red coloured bag lying unattended on the service lane adjacent to Yamuna Expressway near Krishi Anusandhan Kendra.

A police team immediately went to the scene. A woman’s body wrapped in plastic was found packed in the bag.

Preliminary investigations suggest the victim appears to be between the ages of 21 and 22. However, her identity could not be determined. Mathura police have alerted all stations in the district about the recovery of the body.

The body was sent for autopsy and police said the cause of death will be revealed after the autopsy report. All district police stations are on high alert.

Information was received that the bag was stored on the service road near the Raya Agricultural Research Center and was seized in the afternoon, Bisen said.

She was apparently shot dead and then her body was placed inside a bag found on the road, the officer said. He said two sarees were also found in the bag.

SP Dehat Trigun Bisen further said several police teams were deployed to identify the girl and catch the killers. However, so far there has been no success in identifying the girl. For her identification, her photo has been circulated in the district police station as well as in other district police stations. Along with this, a cause against ignorance has been registered.

Circle officer Alok Singh said information about the incident was sent to police stations in all the nearby districts. The body has been sent for autopsy and efforts are underway to identify the victim, he said.
